ANALYSIS, USA — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has proven to be a visionary leader of California.
Schwarzenegger, a Republican, married to a Kennedy Democrat, will become the nations most senior Republican, as the party moves back to the centre.

Interestingly, Obama winning means Schwarzenegger will be the symbolic leader. Vindicated in opposition to Bush on many policies. Bi-partisan. Moderate. Results-driven. Environmentally-focussed. New ideas.
A lot of power in those trends, when GOP licks it wounds, and presumably kills off the Neo-Conservative & right-wing economics that deepened America’s economic wounds.

There is the seed of a trend. If Obama wins, the Republicans will need to move away from extreme-Right economics of the Neo-Conservatives.
This leaves a space for a centre-moderate proven Republican as candicate in 8 years. Or even 4. And Schwarzenegger, is well-regarded for his work in turning around California.

Schwarzenegger is actually married to a Kennedy Democrat, not the son of one. This is really important because it changes his eligibility for the presidency. US Presidents have to have been born in the US or born to US citizens – Schwarzenegger was not.
However, I do think that it will be interesting to see where the Republican party goes in the next 8 years. I’m hoping they move back to a more moderate stance as well.

I agree it is essential for a more moderate republican platform as opposition or as government. 2thinknow focus is pro local American jobs, local economy, supporting local business. Rebuilding local (the only long-term) wealth.
One key element of this is being pro-business, traditional republican. But not confusing being pro-business being pro-Wall Street.
